[ARCHIVED] Anonymous or blind marking

Hi all,

we are considering implementing anonymous or blind marking i.e. the marker is unaware of whose essay they are marking so as to avoid any bias. What are the limitations to ensuring anonymous marking is implemented effectively? I know that Turnitin has an anonymous marking checkbox but is this then compromised when someone also uses speedgrader for marking? I think one of the problems being discussed is that speedgrader won't allow you to reveal one student's name at a time. Not sure if this is true or not. Anyone who can shed some light on this topic in general and how it relates to Canvas working with Turnitin and Speedgrader please do so.

many thanks,

George.
