[ARCHIVED] Accessing Zoom in my Class

When I try to access Zoom in my Canvas class, it asks me to authorize. When I click on authorize I get this message:

Could not identify oauth state parameter. (4,700)

What should I do to get access?

Hi Elizabeth,

You will want to check with the Canvas and/or Zoom administrator at your school.  

There are different ways that the Zoom integration can be set up in Canvas, and different ways that Zoom accounts can be managed on your school's Zoom server.

My guess from the error message is that either there's a problem with your Zoom account, or with the way your account information is being passed from Canvas to Zoom.

A web search led me to this post. 

We have a few users who experience this error even when everything matches up properly between Zoom and Canvas.

In Zoom, the instructors have their official school email address associated with their account. It's also their Default email address in Canvas which is a requirement for our Zoom integration to work properly.

Their Zoom accounts also have the Pro license, and are activated. 

The problem is when they enable Zoom in a Canvas course and click on the Zoom link in the Nav, they get this error.

Could not identify oauth state parameter (4,700).

Solution:

Try a different web browser.

In our experience lately, Chromium based browsers such as Chrome and the new Edge are  currently problematic on Windows 10 when using our Zoom integration. Hopefully this will change soon. Will let you know if it does.

The same user who was receiving this error was able to successfully use the Zoom integration in FireFox.
