Hello, my name is Harvienia Williams. I am honored to be part of the Chicago School Post-Master certification program. I served 3 years active duty in the U.S Army from 1984 to 1988, my mos was grave register, 53F. After my service I attended California State Fullerton where I received my bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychology. 2017, I acquired my MA in Disabilities Studies from a Christian perspective at California Baptist University. My studies at CBU changed my outlook on how we continue to view those with various disabilities, especially those living in residential care facilities. I have 30 years of experience in long-term care facilities for adults with intellectual disabilities, and I recently retired from being the owner/operator of four ICF facilities/residential care homes. I currently operate a therapeutic ranch with my son and daughters on 11 acres in Murrieta, California. As I hung up my residential care provider hat and moved toward a place of sanctuary, my ongoing compassion for those with disabilities and my passion for the tranquility of outdoor life, along with my love for animals, collided. I'm inspired to achieve the knowledge, and the tools needed to assist individuals in managing behaviors while participating in a better quality of life and moving beyond pain and suffering
