Engr. Janet Adeyemi a recipient of the "100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining in 2017 and Nigeria Country Chair on Sustainability. She is a Fellow of Nigeria Society of Engineers, Nigeria Mining and Geosciences and Institute of Management. She is a member of International Society of Sustainability Professionals Sustainable. She is a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria and the Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientist amongst other Professional bodies. Engr. (Dr. Mrs.) Janet Adeyemi has a broad based educational background with Ph.D. from British Columbia University in Political Science, M.Sc. in Engineering from Loughborough, UK, and a B.Sc. degree in Geology from Obafemi Awolowo University (formerly known as University of Ile-Ife). She has a law degree from Open University, Nigeria, (Law School in view). She has earned a number of other certificates on Mining and Governance, Human Rights, Health and Safety etc in her thirst for knowledge from Ivy league institutions.
She served as a legislator in the Federal House of Representatives, Nigeria and worked in the executive arm of government. In 2006, she launched the Women in Mining in Nigeria (WIMIN) - an organization determined to mainstream women into the extractive sector. She is appointed as the Head of the Technical Committee of African Women in Mining and a member of International Women in Mining network. She is a major voice in the gender space nationally and internationally. She is currently appointed as the CSPF representative for World Bank and IMF in West and Central Africa.
