Title:
EMS Instructor/Instructional Coordinator
Bio:
My name is Adam Wester and I am one of the Paramedic instructors here. I have been married my entire adult life to my high school sweetheart and we have one adult child and a teenager. I have been extremely blessed in my life and am very grateful for the opportunities that I have had to serve those in my country, state, and local communities. My work experience is varied and has helped get me to my current position as an instructor. I am a United States Marine Corps Veteran and have worked in a public service role since I was 18 years old. After a short 5 year enlistment in the Marine Corps, I left the military and started working as a Correctional Officer for the State of Texas. I worked for TDCJ for 3 years before deciding to change careers. While I was working as a Correctional Officer I started volunteering at a local VFD. This is where my life would change for the better! I was introduced to a local EMS director and he convinced me to do a few civilian ride-outs with EMS. I attended my first ride-out and was hooked. Since that time I have attended Texas State Technical College (TSTC) and earned my EMT Certification. I continued on at TSTC for the next semester with their Paramedic program. I graduated with my Associates of Arts and Science in Paramedicine in May of 2014. I have worked in a variety of EMS settings from city, county, rural, and frontier EMS. My goal as a Paramedic Instructor is to help guide the next generation of EMS professionals to be ready to assist those in need of help in their own communities.
