Bio:
I am an educator and lifelong learner. My career path includes work in professional storytelling, music performance and composition as well newspaper and magazine writing. My undergraduate degree is in Japanese Studies, and I lived in Japan for 12 years, where I became a master of the koto, a traditional Japanese instrument. I then earned a masters in Japanese Pedagogy and a doctorate in International Education at the University of Iowa. I have taught in a wide variety of classroom environments, both online and traditional.
I am eLearning Director at Renton Technical College and a Quality Matters master reviewer, recently developing and designing two online Certificates for Community College educators: Certificate in Adult Education and Certificate in eLearning Design and Development. I have also facilitated two MOOCs for educators through the Canvas Network. I am fascinated with the challenges and opportunities our internet world is providing.
