What I would like to do as a teacher using Slack and Canvas is to create a slackbot that posts nightly or weekly assignments for a class into its associated channel. Ideally, students could query it with a Slack command (e.g. "/hw").This all seems fairly intuitive to set up on the Slack side, but I'm not familiar enough with programming or webhooks to do it.
Canvas documentation has information about webhooks subscriptions and calendar events that may help.
