Career readiness and skill development are top priorities for business and government, as well as any institution promoting continuing education for their learners. They are continuously seeking innovative ways to better prepare learners for evolving workforce demands. With this in mind, we recently had the pleasure of hosting a dynamic group from our Product Council for Business and Government and Continuing Education at our Salt Lake City headquarters to help shape the future of career learning.
Here's what we heard from our customers:
- Skills are top of mind: Customers emphasized the importance of skills-based frameworks and robust assessment tools to effectively measure learning outcomes and directly link skills to workforce readiness. One customer stated, "[Skills] is the core of why we're doing what we're doing. Being able to track this, how they are progressing. If the platform can connect skills to careers, it will help us reach our objective for our learners."
- AI drives efficiency - especially for small teams: AI can be a powerful tool for increased efficiency, personalized learning experiences, and improved learner engagement- especially for organizations with smaller teams. “The ability to create engaging content from “bland” workbooks would not only be engaging for learners but save creators lots of time,” shared one customer.
- Words matter- a different user experience for continuing education learners: A non-academic user experience and language is key for continued education, business and government learners.
- Data-driven insights are not just a nice to have: Robust analytics and clear reporting are essential. Our customers rely heavily on detailed insights to demonstrate business objectives and track learner outcomes. One customer shared, “it would be great to show the business impact of learning programs. Finding a way to show the outcomes from our learning programs helps to show impact”.
- Customization and control is key: No two organizations are created the same, making strong customization in content creation, user management, and skills assessment essential for business success.
- User & cohort management is essential: Customers highlighted critical pain points around user and cohort management, emphasizing the importance of robust tools that streamline management tasks separate from traditional course enrollments
- Organizations need seamless ecosystem integration: Customers emphasized the necessity of smooth integrations with existing systems, including HRIS and CRM platforms, to optimize workflows and improve learner data management.
