We’re excited to introduce a new beta feature in Canvas Commons designed to make resource management more efficient: Quick Action Buttons. Whether you’re an educator looking to share or download materials, or a content owner managing your resources, these new tools will streamline your workflow.
What’s New?
Quick Action Buttons are now accessible via a dropdown menu (in a handy kebab menu format) in the last column of the new list view. Here’s what you can do:
- For Non-Owners:
- Share: Easily share resources with your colleagues or wider networks.
- Download: Access and utilise resources instantly without opening them first.
- For Resource Owners:
- Edit: Quickly make changes to your resources.
- Delete: Remove outdated or unnecessary materials effortlessly.
- All of the above, plus: sharing, downloading, editing, and deleting directly from the list view.
Why Is This Valuable?
We understand how precious time is for our users. By enabling actions directly from the list view, this update reduces clicks and navigation time, helping you focus on creating and delivering impactful lessons or managing your resources.
How It Works
- Navigate to the new list view in Canvas Commons.
- Locate the resource you wish to manage.
- Click on the kebab menu (three vertical dots) in the last column.
- Select the desired action from the dropdown menu.
It’s that simple! Whether you’re collaborating with peers or fine-tuning your resources, Quick Action Buttons ensure that you can do it all with minimal effort.
