We are thrilled to announce a significant upgrade to our Canvas and Canvas Credentials integration that will revolutionise your credentialing experience. With the completion of our latest phase, your badges can now be awarded, while the enrolments are synced in near real-time, a vast improvement from the previous 24-hour processing window.
What We Did and Why
Over the past year, we've been committed to enhancing our synchronization process between Canvas and Canvas Credentials. While last year we focused on addressing known issues, we knew that for the long-term success and satisfaction of our users, we needed to make more substantial improvements.
As part of our phased sync improvement plan, we have integrated with Live Events. This integration enables us to provide near real-time updates, ensuring that your achievements are recognised and awarded almost immediately after completion. Additionally, enrolments will now also sync in near real-time, making sure that your learners' progress is always up-to-date. This upgrade is not just a technical enhancement; it’s a step forward in making your credentialing process smoother and more efficient.
What Can You Expect
Here’s what you can look forward to with this update:
- Near Real-Time Badge Awarding: No more waiting for hours! As soon as your learners complete their courses, their badges will be awarded almost instantly.
- Near Real-Time Enrolment Sync: Enrolment changes will now reflect almost immediately, ensuring that your course rosters and credentials are always current.
- Enhanced User Experience: With quicker recognition of achievements, learners are more motivated and engaged, knowing that their efforts are promptly acknowledged.
- Improved Workflow: This update will streamline your workflow, allowing you to focus more on teaching and less on administrative tasks.
Prerequisites for This Update
To take full advantage of these new features, please ensure the following prerequisites are met:
- Credentials is Installed via LTI 1.3: Make sure that Credentials is installed through LTI 1.3 and connected to a Credentials organization.
- Data Services Tool Enabled on Canvas Account: Ensure that the Data Services tool is enabled on your Canvas account.
