We are upgrading to the latest versions of jQuery and jQuery UI to ensure compliance with the latest security guidelines.
If your institution uses custom JS/CSS, please check your beta instances to avoid potential issues with your customizations. Although the likelihood of encountering issues is low, we want to ensure your branding/customization works seamlessly after the upgrade.
From the jQuery UI upgrade guide:
“Although the redesigns introduced breaking changes, 1.12 & 1.13 maintain a lot of compatibility with the 1.11 API by default. Therefore, the number of breaking changes is extremely limited compared to previous upgrades.”
Catalog currently uses jQuery UI version 1.11, and we will upgrade to version 1.13. Notably, .focus and .zIndex have been removed, so please consider this when reviewing your custom code.
The upgrades will be available on the beta instances starting June 11, 2024, and will be released to production on June 17, 2024.
