Dear Canvas Credentials Community!
We want to inform you about an upcoming AWS upgrade that will enhance our system’s performance and security. While we aim to make this transition as seamless as possible, there may be a temporary disruption during the migration process.
When and What to Expect:
The upgrade will take place during nighttime hours to minimize any inconvenience. You may experience up to 60 minutes of service interruption during this time.
Affected Services:
- Registration: Username/password creation and social account linking will be temporarily unavailable.
- Login: Login via username/password, Single Sign-On (SSO), and social logins will be temporarily unavailable.
- Social Account Linking: Temporarily disrupted.
- Access/Request Tokens: Generation of access tokens and request tokens will be unavailable.
- User Merge and Deletion: These actions may encounter issues during the upgrade window.
Unaffected Services:
- Badge Awarding and Syncing: Fully operational.
- User Sessions: Logged-in users will experience no interruptions.
- APIs: v2 APIs will remain available.
- Issuer/Badge Creation and Modification: Not affected.
- LTI Version: Continues to function as expected.
Upgrade Schedule:
- AU Environment: October 28, 2024, at 01:00 AM AEST / 10:00 PM AWST
- SG Environment: October 28, 2024, at 10:00 PM SGT
- EU Environment: October 28, 2024, at 10:00 PM CET
- CA Environment: October 28, 2024, at 5:00 AM EDT / 2:00 AM PDT
- US Environment: October 29, 2024, at 5:00 AM EDT / 2:00 AM PDT
