"You do not have access to this resource" message in New Quizzes student view

Hi,

I created a stimulus question in New Quizzes with a video.  I added the video as an mp4 file and uploaded it to course files and to global files. Files permissions are not restricted. The video shows up in the instructor view but in the student view I get "You do not have access to this resource" message so I assume it does not show for the students. Does anybody have any ideas what can be causing this and how to fix it?

Hi @MonikaMajor - you may need to check that the folder is published, and what the specific settings are for the mp4 file itself - we got caught out by some 'improvements' in Canvas files management last year which was impacting access to legacy files.

Note also that the principle in Canvas is that if something is unpublished in one place it is unpublished everywhere - so if you have an unpublished link to the video in the modules area, this may prevent it showing in a different location.
