Hello,
I'm familiarizing myself with the new Item Banks and transitioning my exams from the classic quizzes to the new quizzes but a lot of questions I have on this process.
1) I'm trying to change the type of question in some of my questions in the new Item Banks. For example, the questions were originally created as a filling-in-the-blank and I want to change it to a multiple choice -or vice-versa. In the classic question banks that was possible but I do not find how to do it in the Item Bank.
2) One of the most promoted new benefits of the new classic quizzes and Item Banks is the type of questions Stimulus. However, when I created one Stimulus question on any of my Item Banks it did not give me the option to include the related questions and answers (see attached picture).
Some help/advice would be great with this.
Thanks
Hello @racev2
You should be able to edit the items in your item bank - If you go to the item bank specifically (not the quiz) there should be a pencil icon per question that you can click to enable the edit: How do I edit an item bank item in New Quizzes? - Instructure Community - 703
If you are doing it straight within the quiz it should be the same - click on the pencil to change the question type: How do I edit a quiz in New Quizzes? - Instructure Community - 992
I'm not sure why the stimulus questions aren't working for you as intended. You create a new question, get a stimulus Title, instructions, and content fields? Hopefully this guide will help: How do I insert stimulus content in New Quizzes? - Instructure Community - 573
If it isn't working anything like that, it would be best if you contacted Canvas Support directly to pinpoint the source of the issue and provide a resolution:

Hello @greydon,
I have the same 1st question. I tried the edit pencil and I do not see a way to change the question type. Please see the screenshot below. Thank you,
Mounika
