Curved or edited grade reverts to original grade in New Quizzes

A few weeks ago I used the curve grades feature in the Canvas grade book to curve a test grade. Then about a week later for no apparent reason all of the curved grades were replaced with the original grades from New Quizzes. Fortunately, I had a hard copy of the curved grades and was able to restore them.
Today I had a student who had done test corrections on a previous test come to me and say that her grade had reverted to the original grade she had received in New Quizzes.
The common denominator for these two events is that I opened the New Quiz and adjusted the setting to Restrict Student Results View. Could changing this setting cause New Quizzes to rewrite the original grades back to the Canvas grade book?
