Can we get partial credit for the sorting and categorization questions like the multiple answers and matching questions?

Can we start getting partial credit for the sorting and categorization style questions because if one part of the answer is wrong, the whole question is marked wrong? This will help the faculty more accurately assess student's understanding of the material. Thank you.

Would it be possible to add a grading feature that allows for partial credit on multiple answers and matching questions as opposed to docking full points off the question. That would be helpful.

There is already a partial credit option for both Multiple Answer and Matching Questions. This would be best discussed with your instructor so that they can address the matter on their end. They may also have a reason for NOT using partial credit, but only they could answer that. You posted this in a community forum so we do not have access to your course nor the authority to override your teacher's implementation. Make a sound arguement for why you desire them to turn on partial credit and they may do so. Good luck.

For the drag-and-drop question, can we get partial credit? If there are multiple drag-and-drop boxes and we get it wrong, the entire question is wrong. Is there a way to give partial credit for the answers because it will help credit us for the answers we get right instead of marking the entire question wrong?

Hello! It would be so helpful for faculty and students to be able to have partial credit on questions that have a drop box/click and drag questions. This feature would be so helpful for giving students accurate grades and for faculty to properly assess the student's understanding! Thank you!

You have posted your question in the global Canvas Community website.  We do not have access to your school's Canvas environment or any of your courses.  This question about partial credit should be addressed to the instructor of your course.  You can contact your instructor directly in Canvas by going to the "Help" menu on the left side of your screen and then selecting "Ask Your Instructor a Question".  More info is found at: How do I get help with Canvas?.

Yes! I am also a college student and it marks the entire answer wrong when we answer one part wrong. I believe incorporating partial credit would help benefit us because we would be able to get some credit for the things we did answer right. It would also help faculty get a better understanding of where we are with the material. Thank You!
