Hi,
I know this comes up many times, but I really want to make sure this is added to New Quizzes or a good alternative can be created.
In order to automatically give students full points, after they submit open-ended reflection questions. I'm using the graded survey in the Classic Quizzes. I have tried the "Fill in the blank" solution, but the size of the blank is way...too small and really bad experience for students. I ended up having to ask students to write an answer in Word and paste it back to the fill-in-the-blank question...not a good solution.
Canvas team, could you please find a good solution for us? Thank you!

HI @YatingTeng that would be a helpful improvement I agree. In case it helps in the meantime, one possible workaround I was thinking of suggesting to faculty as we prepare for the transition would be to use the new multiple choice option to "vary points by answer".
You could have 0 point essay questions like you have now for reflection and then at the bottom of the quiz you could have one multiple choice question in which you assign full points to each answer so that no matter which answer they choose they would automatically get full credit.
It used to be we could create a single multiple choice answer that was always correct but New Quizzes does a better job of error checking now 🙂 so you can no longer have a single answer to multiple choice / multiple answer questions so your question would need to have a minimum of two possible answers with both given full points using the vary points by answer option.

Hi Melanie,
This is such a smart workaround! Thank you so much!
