a11y New Quizzes file number limit on upload question not read by screen readers
This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 8/1/24.
Description
When a user takes a New Quizzes assessment with a file upload question, the user on a screen reader is not notified about the number of files that can be uploaded.
Expected Behavior
To have the screen reader notify about the number of files that can be uploaded
Workaround
After the student uploads a file, if the file upload button is not present, the limit has been reached. However, this is much easier for sighted users to see.
Steps to Reproduce
Prerequisite: A New Quizzes assessment with a file upload type question.
-
Edit the quiz and limit the file numbers and set a restriction to file types
-
Preview the quiz as a student
-
Enable VO on Mac
-
Navigate by header to the question
-
Navigate by item with the left/right arrow keys
-
Note that the file limit number is not read
