[OPEN] [Android] Student | Freetext annotation comments on a submission do not zoom correctly for students

Canvas

Engineers are currently investigating the issue.

Description

The zoom functions seem to work in reverse for freetext annotation comments when zooming in or out of a submission in the student android app. When you zoom in the comments get smaller, and when you zoom out they get larger.

Expected Behavior

Zooming into the submission will allow the freetext annotation comments to get bigger with the submission and become more easier to read, and zooming out will make the comments smaller along with the submission.

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

Prerequisites: Have a published course with at least 1 student and 1 assignment. The student should have submitted a file that can be annotated to the assignment.

  1. As a teacher, navigate to the student's submission and make a freetext annotation comment on the submission.

  2. As a student, login to the student app, and navigate to the submission.

  3. While viewing the submission, note that the annotation comment is too small to read, and attempt to zoom in. Note that zooming in is making the paper bigger, but the annotation smaller.

  4. zoom out and note that the comment is getting bigger (but not big enough to read) and the paper is getting smaller.
