Gradebook scrollbar is cutting off the last row of student names within several browsers

Canvas

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 5/8/24.

Description

Within the Gradebook if you have enough Assignments to create a scrollbar at the bottom of the screen, as well as enough students to fill the screen, you will notice that there is a scroll bar that cuts off half of the very last students grades after scrolling to the bottom of the page.

Expected Behavior

The scroll bar should be displayed below the very last student’s grades.

Workaround

  • Use Firefox as your browser instead.

  • Use the gradebook filters to bring the last students into view manually.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a course with enough Assignments to create a scrollbar at the bottom of the Gradebook screen (on my end it was 6 Assignments).

  2. Create roughly 25 enrollments in the course

  3. Go to the Gradebook and scroll down to the last student while using Chrome, Edge or Safari browsers, notice that their grades are cut off by the scroll bar.

  4. Open the same Gradebook in Firefox and notice that the last students grades are full cells, the scroll bar is listed below the cells instead.
