Hello Everyone!
Around this time every year, I start getting excited for InstructureCon. The changing seasons mean it’s just around the corner! InstructureCon is much more than a conference for Instructure customers - it’s a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and the incredible impact we can make when we come together as a community. For me, the magic of InstructureCon is that I have so many wonderful, unexpected moments every year. Of course, we do our best to pack each day with inspiring, useful content. But because we’re intentional about leaving opportunities for serendipity to happen, I always come away inspired and even more determined to support educators. Magic happens when this outstanding group of educators, innovators, and industry leaders from around the globe meet in person!
Here are some of my favorite memories from InstructureCon over the years:
- The Malcom Gladwell keynote: The stories he shared around successful teams was inspiring. He was also incredibly down-to-earth. For those of us behind the stage, he was happy to chat away about everything from speaking to large audiences to what we were planning to do for the rest of the summer. He is an all-around good human.
- Speaking of good humans, Jewel and her unexpected indoor acoustic concert at Keystone. She was so transparent and vulnerable in her interview prior to the concert with Josh. Then, when the rains forced her show indoors, she rolled with the weather and gave one of the best concerts I have ever attended.
- The Partner Tent overlooking the lake at Keystone. I was running the partner program back then, and this was our first time with such a large collection of partners in a tent outside. The tent sat just above the boardwalk and had a great view of the lake and our gigantic panda floating there. And our partners were incredible sports as we worked through power issues and other outdoor fun.
This year, our theme is all around the exploration of our amazing Educational Ecosystem! Or, as we lovingly refer to it, The Ed-cosystem. Together, we’ll discover the elements of a vibrant ecosystem, which includes, of course, a thriving community. We have so many fun surprises planned as we invite you to join what will be an immersive experience.
I’m so excited to welcome back Dr Jordan Nguyen - our top speaker from last year. Dr Jordan returns to share some amazing innovations around life-changing, inclusive technology for people with disabilities. And, of course, there is our featured keynote by National Geographic explorer, mountaineer and award-winning filmmaker Jimmy Chin. Jimmy will share how he pulls on passion, perseverance and ingenuity to achieve the seemingly impossible (just like educators are asked to do everyday).
