Upcoming Maintenance Outage

We will be updating our system on Dec 27, 2023. The down time will begin at midnight EST, and we expect the update to be completed within 24 hours. This will affect our API as well as our Alignment systems. Please let us know if you have any questions!

New Alignment App feature

When aligning by object or aligning by standard, all properties attached to a learning object display–such as asset types, asset numbers, content urls, any custom properties added to the learning object, etc. Previously, a learning object only displayed information for subject, ID, and grade.  All properties containing urls will display as links to be able to tie your learning object records directly back to your native content.

Standards Updates

Florida > State Academic Standards > Social Studies (2008 r2023)

Utilization, Label, and Numbering Updates

As a result of review, we altered our capture of Florida > State Academic Standards > Social Studies (2008 r2023). Originally, many benchmark statements had child statements (level 4 statements) that were alignable. Now, those statements have been made clarifications with a new label of Clarification and new raw numbering.

How will this change impact the standards data?

The utilization for the child statements changed from alignable to clarification. They also received a label of Clarification and a raw number.

How will this change impact alignments?

Any child statements present in each grade level will no longer appear in the alignment system or in the API as alignable level statements.

Any existing alignments between assets and standards will not change, but they will not be visible in the alignment system.

When is this change taking effect?

These standards were changed on November 20,2023.

What action must I take?

If appropriate, you may want to update your version of the standards to reflect these changes.

How can I get more information?

Obsoleted Civics Strands

Until recently, FL had included both their old Civics standards and their new Civics standards within the Social Studies document. Upon review, the old Civics strands have now been removed, so we have updated our capture accordingly. To ensure that you still have access to the old standards, we have moved them into their own sections and then obsoleted those sections to highlight that they are no longer in use.

How will this change impact the standards data?

The grade and course sections within the Social Studies document will now only contain the new Civics standards.

The old Civics standards were moved into these newly created, obsolete sections:

  • Strand Civics and Government (K) - 2008
    • Section GUID: D8A3C563-7F38-11EE-A874-0A02C5C420E1
