[Attendance] The Roll Call attendance tool should provide the option for the instructor to view a randomly ordered list of students.

Problem statement:

In a very large class, it may be impractical call the roll for, say 150 students. However, the instructor may want to take attendance for a random subset (say 35) of the enrolled students.

Proposed solution:

The Canvas Roll call tool could solve this problem by allowing the instructor (or teaching assistant) the option, to view the student names in a random rather than alphabetical order. Why? Because the instructor could simply call role for the first few dozen names appearing in the random list, this facilitating calling roll for just a random subset of students.

User role(s):

instructor

Thanks for submitting your feature idea. This seems like it fits well into the "Improved UI Controls and Usability - Additional filtering and view options" theme, so I've associated it under that.
