Question about Reporting

I've reviewed the guides about reporting but they did not answer my questions about reporting. According to the guides, an instructor can enable reporting from the discussion index page. From the my testing, it appears the instructor receives a notification about the report but this notification does not display in the inbox. I think it would be nice if this notification would display in the inbox so the instructor can keep track of them. Also, if this is a notification, should this be listed on the notification page?
