While it is true that a current Instructure employee hasn't responded to this thread since 2021, it isn't like what we've written is being ignored. At some point after my post in February, they did address the depth issue. I don't recall seeing anything about it being addressed in release notes, but I have confirmed it is now indenting every level (up to 10, I'm not bothering to check further) on four different Instructure-hosted instances of Canvas.
Additionally, this isn't the only place where you can discuss Canvas, it's simply the best documented and most used/viewed/visible place. There is an mIRC chat found in the Canvas GitHub Wiki pages where some of the Instructure engineers hang out. It's meant for administrators to get support with self-hosted Canvas, but they don't discourage Instructure-hosted discussion, either. I've gotten several things pushed through to production Canvas by discussing them there with other administrators and the engineers.
Let me be clear, that chat is NOT an alternative to posting ideas/issues on the community, nor do I recommend non-administrators to join, but for administrators it is a great resource for gaining/relaying information about Canvas in general. You simply have to exercise a little patience, since it could take hours, if not days, for someone to answer a question (we try not to speak up if we don't actually have an answer).
