Discussions Redesign: Maintain Settings Preferences

Hello,

Currently, in Discussions Redesign, if an instructor selects settings, such as Expand Threads, some or all of their preferences return to the default settings upon leaving or refreshing the page.

It is inefficient to have to reselect preferred settings each time they enter a discussion. It would be helpful to save settings selected by the user so they don't have to keep reselecting the same settings over and over.

The ability to save user preferences would save time and create a more seamless experience for instructors using the Discussions Redesign feature.

PLEASE FIX THIS! The new design is inefficient and frustrating. Course level settings to revert back to the previous version would be great. Problems in the new design include:

• Options/settings revert (original post)
• Size of reply is smaller and hard to read
• Some posts automatically mark as read and others do not
• If you accidentally scroll past a post it takes extra steps to mark it as read
• Most of the discussion text in the Canvas Teacher app is light grey and difficult to read, to the point of uselessness

Please address these issues and make the discussions useable again. They are important, especially with online courses and are now much more difficult to use. Not just being old and against change, I like updates as long as they are improvements and this one is not an improvement.
