Discussion Posting Numerical

As I created discussion questions/assignments for my student and trying to get them to remain in numerical order, example:

Week #1

Week #2

and so forth. Instead what happens is the last assignment created is what stays on top, or shows first. Is there a way to get them to stay in numerical order such as due date? Please assist if possible

Hello @rpennick - one approach is to place a link to each discussion within a Module. For example, this could be a module for each week or perhaps the topic being studied.

Another approach is to position the discussions into the pinned area within the Discussions interface. I do believe this 'glues' the discussions in the sequence you place them.

thank you, I like the suggestion, to place the discussion in that week's module. Then I will get element the discussion tab, which at that point be redundant. Nice, thanks

You mean the "discussion" link in the main course nnavigation? I would not get rid of it. It serves as a quick way for both you and students to locate the discussions. Otherwise you have to go to the modules and scroll through all the stuff there to locate the discussion you want and the module it is in.

It is generally a good idea to provide multiple ways to navigate a course site. Different people prefer different ways. I do the same with my quizzes - they are in the modules but I also allow students more direct access to them from the "quizzes" link in the main navigation panel. Both quizzes and discussions are something students might want to revisit often. Even after a discussion is closed, students can benefit from reviewing content from past discussions.
