Together, the Office of Academic Strategy and the Instructure Community Team are excited to announce a special read-along event featuring A Human's Guide to the Future by Dr. Jordan Nguyen. The Book Club course, offered through Canvas Network, will host thought-provoking discussions of various topics related to the future of humanity, from technological advancements to societal changes.
What is a read-along?
A read-along is a collaborative learning experience where participants engage with the course material. It's an opportunity to dive deep into the content, exchange ideas, and gain new insights through discussion and reflection.
The A Human’s Guide to the Future Book Club will take place May 20 - June 30, 2024.
We’ll read one section of Dr. Jordan’s book each week and then share our insights and takeaways in discussions with our peers.

Dr. Jordan Nguyen will be one of the featured keynotes at InstructureCon 2024. Whether you will attend InstructureCon in Las Vegas or dive into published content and learn asynchronously later, everyone is welcome to read A Human's Guide to the Future with the Instructure Community!

- Engage in meaningful discussions and guided reflections focused on Dr. Jordan’s writing.
- Earn an invitation to an exclusive meet-and-greet with Dr. Jordan at InstrutureCon ‘24.
- While the course will be available through September 30, if you’d like to be invited to this special event, participation requirements must be completed by Friday, July 5 @ 12p MT.
How do I participate?
- Visit the Book Club course page and enroll in the A Human's Guide to the Future course on Canvas Network. Registration will be open until June
- Purchase a copy of A Human’s Guide to the Future and be ready to start reading on May 20, 2024.
- Orient yourself by completing the first module before May 20. Make sure to customize your user profile and introduce yourself to other participants!
- Each week, set time aside to read and reflect. Review the guided questions, and then share your thoughts, questions, and insights with the group as you progress through the content.
