Canvas Deploy Notes (2024-08-29)
Canvas deploys contain code changes that are intended to fix bugs, improve performance, and prepare for new features. These deploys take place every two weeks and can be tested in the beta environment before the production deploy date indicated in the title of this document. Institutions are responsible for conducting thorough evaluations of their custom CSS/JS with each release and deploy to assess potential impacts.

This update streamlines instructor workflow and improves the ability to differentiate instruction of assignments and discussions.
Feature Workflow
When using the Create and Edit pages for Assignments, Discussions, Pages and Quizzes, the Assign Access interface displays by default. To differentiate student or section access, click the Add Assign To button.

Summary
In Course Settings, the Course Navigation interface is updated with Drag icons, increased space between options.
Change Benefit
This update enhances clarity around the ability to drag and reorder items, while also improving the user interface.
Feature Workflow
In Course Navigation Settings, a drag icon displays and each item displays increased white space.
Feature Previews
A Feature Preview indicates a feature option in active development. Users who opt in to the feature and join the Community user group can help improve the feature through direct feedback.
