Canvas Deploy Notes (2024-06-18)

[#1]

Canvas deploys contain code changes that are intended to fix bugs, improve performance, and prepare for new features. These deploys take place every two weeks and can be tested in the beta environment before the production deploy date indicated in the title of this document. Institutions are responsible for conducting thorough evaluations of their custom CSS/JS with each release and deploy to assess potential impacts.

This update provides additional reference information that can help users quickly identify and distinguish between courses.

In the Global Navigation Courses Tray, SIS Ids display if available. If a course does not have a SIS ID, only the Term information displays.

Sort Course List

Summary

In the Courses page, users can sort courses. Additionally, a Favorite header text is added.

This update enhances course navigation and personalization.

In Courses, a Favorite header text is added [1]. To sort each column, use the ascending and descending icon [2].

View as Student Button Text Update

Summary

The Student view button text is changed to View as Student.

This change clarifies the button's function, making it more intuitive for users.

Summary

In the Global Announcements tab, admin can duplicate existing announcements using the Duplicate icon.

When editing a profile picture, the profile picture modal is improved with a Picture Option drop-down menu.

This improvement allows users to easily select different options related to their profile picture, providing a more streamlined and user-friendly experience.

Pronunciations

Summary

In Account Settings, an Enable name pronunciation option is available. When the Enable name pronunciation Account Settings is enabled, users can include the phonetic pronunciation of their names on their profile.

Note: Profiles must be enabled by your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

This feature allows users to provide a clear and accurate representation of how their names should be pronounced, making it easier for others to address them correctly.

In Account Settings, select the Enable name pronunciation checkbox.

Name Pronunciation Field

When editing a profile, enter the desired name pronunciation in the Name Pronunciation field.

When the Users can edit their name account setting is disabled, users can still edit the Name Pronunciation field.

Name Pronunciation View

Once saved, the name pronunciation displays on a user's profile page.

Additional Details

If the Users can edit their profile account setting is disabled, users cannot edit their name pronunciation.

Studio Media Feedback Player
