ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK—WHERE TO POST IDEA SUGGESTIONS AND SUBMIT BUG REPORTS
- Idea requests for the Product Team to consider should be submitted in ideas.canvaslms.com . This is the best way to ask for additional or alternative functionality than what is included in the release. Linking to the related idea here so others can find it is encouraged!
- Bug reports should be submitted to Canvas Support. This way, cases can be connected and uniform updates can be provided to those involved. Bugs will not be triaged in this thread
Howdy folks
Another probably niche question to clarify intended behaviour 🙂
What's the workflow? In the explainer it looks like the audio is run through a language-detection routine prior to text generation, but the headline makes it look like the browser language setting controls the output... so...
What happens when a teacher has their browser language set in their first/primary language, but they aren't speaking in this language?
Will the text generation try to transcribe in (user browser language) content that's given in (user spoken language) for course delivered in (Canvas Language pack)?
For now, the speech-to-text is using the language the browser is using. So at this time if you wish to speak in a different language you would need to (at least temporarily) change your browser's language. If you speak a different language than what the browser is set to the speech-to-text attempts to write what you are saying in the browser's language which, while not useful, can have hilariously bad results. 😆
Also, as a proud and ocker Aussie 🇦🇺 , I'm glad you're tidying up the words. 🙂
but... what the heck is a 'markbook'?
