"Sections" are not showing up for "Modules" to "Assign To"

When I try to assign a module to a specific section, the sections do not show up. The only thing that shows up is an old section that has been deleted from the course. How do I make the correct sections show up so I can assign modules to specific sections?

Just curious...when you are on your screen that lists those five course sections, what happens when you click on any one of them?  Are there any dates filled in for a specific course section that would limit the access in any way?

I also had this problem, I had just added some sections and they didn't show up in the "assign to" options.

When I returned to the course a couple of hours later they did show up in the options.  I am assuming that it is something to do with the data replicating to the various tables.

Anyway if you encounter this problem - just wait an hour or two and you will be able to assign things to the new sections.

There are two things you can check:  1. Did you click in the box under Assign to? The sections don't appear until you click in the box. 2. Did you check in Settings under the Sections tab to make sure that your settings are listed there? If they're not, you can check with your admin to see if the sections have been merged.

Hi @jessica_william,

One other thing I'd suggest is trying to scroll in that list, it may be that there is a hidden scrollbar (mac is notorious for hiding scrollbars, a pet peeve of mine) and that the list is longer than it appears.
