I am sorry you are having issues with your video responses in discussions. There are a few things that can cause issues such as this.
- How long was the video you are recording/uploading? Canvas recommends keeping recordings under 15 minutes because longer media recordings require more time to render and may be interrupted without a stable internet connection. Canvas will not accept media uploads larger than 500 MB.
- Is your browser timing out during the upload? Typically if you continue to see issues such as this, it is due to an issue with your browser. I would recommend clearing the cache and cookies for "All Time." This should help give your browser a fresh new start. Here are the Canvas guides for MAC and PC.
- Are you able to upload the recording while using an Incognito window or a different browser? HERE is the canvas documentation on the supported browser that can be used in the LMS.
- Is your browser up to date? Using an out of date browser can sometimes cause the issue you are describing here.
- Is your network capable of handling the media upload? You can run a Speedtest HERE. For Canvas, It is recommended to have a minimum Internet speed of 512kbps.
