Regular teachers frequently leave course work for students to perform in Canvas. I have never been instructed how to view those assignments or where to look. As a substitute for the regular teacher with a desire to help, it would be great to actually see what the expectations are...and not just talk about the assignment.
Any assistance is appreciated.

I am not 100% sure what your question is, but I'll try to help.
Usually, when you log into Canvas and go to a course site, in the left menu, you will see Assignments menu item. Clicking on that should take you to the page where you can see a list of the assignments. Click on a particular assignment, and that should open the page with the description and details of the assignment, as well as the marking rubric, if any have been provided by the respective teacher.
