SpeedGrader is alphabetizing by Last Name Z-A

My SpeedGrader suddenly started alphabetizing my students from Z-A instead of A-Z and there doesn't seem to be an option to change that.  This happened suddenly without me changing any settings.

I can go into the gradebook and change the order from A-Z to Z-A and back to A-Z and none of those changes affect the order in the SpeedGrader.  I have tried to change the order in SpeedGrader to date submitted and then back to alphabetical, but it still has everyone ordered from Z-A.

Any help with finding the right button would be awesome.  I can manage with the flip, but it is annoying and I have to click on the left arrow to get everyone in the right order rather than click on the right arrow and the left arrow changes position depending on the length of the student's name, which is extra annoying since it slows me down.

Anyone run into the same problem and find a solution?

Ours isn't even doing that. It's starting most classes with the M - O names and then randomizing the rest. Its completely broken and changing the options makes no difference.

Ours is also showing from Z to A, I really hope they revert this to A-Z or maybe even make a separate option to make that a sort order option.

Hello! Yesterday, the engineers released a fix that addresses the unexpected sorting defaults. If you still experience the Z-A sort, please create a ticket with Canvas Support. How do I contact Canvas Support?
