Observing my own students and I can't see some scores

I am a teacher using Canvas.  I have made myself an Observer of my ELD 1 students so that we can have weekly grade conferences. Two issues-- On a computer screen, I can see the list of students I'm Observing, but I can't click on any students to actually Observe any of their progress; I can only see their courses and grades in the Canvas Parent App, which is not convenient.  Second, when I look at the students' scores on assignments in my classes in the Parent App, I can't see their scores, only their overall grade.  I am afraid that parents won't be able to see those scores either.   The scores are posted and students can see them from a computer screen in Canvas, but how do I know for sure that parents can see the scores if I can't see them myself as an Observer?
