I'm an instructional designer working on online Canvas courses everyday. I'm not happy with the recent "improvement" to the rich content editor. When using the html editor, I've noticed it has a white background vs. a gray background. Not terrible, but not as easy on my eyes.
What I am most unhappy about is the behavior of the html editor. Whenever I am on a page a lot of text, and I'm in the middle of the edit screen (not the very top or the very bottom of the screen ), when I make an edit, it jumps me to the top of the screen. Then I have to find where I was making the change in the code again. Then I'm jumped to the top of the screen again.
This does not work for me at all. I'm going to have to start using Notepad when editing.

I know the link doesn't completely resolve the issue for you on your end, but it's good to know that their software engineers are aware of the issue and are actively seeking a resolution.

The highlighting of different commands or script markings is so 1980's and it is driving me crazy!! The jumping to the top of the screen when I'm in the middle or the bottom, even though I am still typing in the same place is confusing and disorienting. Instructure, what did you dooooo? Please revert it back to the way it looked in the editor pre-your-recent-update!
I am so relieved it is not just me having these issues, it has been driving me NUTS!
