Links to Home not updating with Commons or Blueprint transfers

This is a fun particular one 🙂
We're working on layout templates for Pages, Discussions, and Assignments that feature a bespoke home button. In effect, the button is simply a link back to the course home, built with the destination link found via the insert link feature -> Course Navigation -> Home.
When transferring these templates to other courses using IMSCC files, or the Copy-To feature, the home link updates itself to direct users to the designated home in the destination course. When transferring these templates via Commons or Blueprint, the home link retains the code for the original course instead of updating for the destination (unlike static page links which update fine) thus breaking its function. I suspect this is tied to the fact that Home links simply point users to a link ending with the course number as the end of the url instead of a name as with static page links (ex. .../courses/###### instead of .../courses/######/pagename).
I tested several times with each transfer method, Pages/Discussions/Assignments, and via our bespoke button as well as just a text-based standard link. The outcomes were the same.
Given the large number of courses we serve and instructor autonomy with editing/renaming homepages, directing to a static page is not a viable option. I know our use-case is perhaps in the minority, but I reach out in hopes for a patch or reliable workaround, as we'd love to use Commons and Blueprint for distribution. Thanks!
