Hey fellow Admins,
We use MS Teams extensively; I know that Canvas and Teams can be linked in terms of setting up a Teams meeting in Canvas. What I am looking for is accessing content. I am trying to find a way to link the two platforms where our students can access their Canvas courses, and content- in their class MS Teams page.
Has anyone had any luck with this? I recently tried a third party application called "Go1" which claimed they did what I was looking for, but after closer investigation it does not.
@jsetnar Last Spring we attempted this, using GO1 and it didn't accomplish the same feel as what we were hoping for. I also tried just adding a Website tab in the channel to Canvas, but the incompatibility warning was off-putting. I watched a youtube video of a University using the website tab and just told viewers to disregard it.
Have you tried adding the website tab? Was it received well by your team?
@keliim25858e Yes, that is what I ended up doing- for the most part it has been well received. I recently read on a Teams group that soon we will be able to pin a website to the sidebar.
Someone put a link to what looks like an integration model (in another thread) from https://www.learnx.co.uk
Have no idea whether Canvas and Microsoft are working on a Teams integration - but heard there were some beta trials for more Office365 integration going on but don't know the details...
Thank you for sharing. I recall from Canvas Con that this was in the works, but according to my CSM, the was being done incrementally. I've been bugging our CSM and the Microsoft Education team about these as it will be such a big time saver for everyone and should sync up our classes nicely, but I'm not sure how all this is going to play out.
According the the Product Roadmap, Canvas indicated a Calendar Feature: Configuration for Microsoft Teams: Roadmap - Canvas Community (canvaslms.com). There wasn't much additional information and I didn't really see what it really does.
Hopefully there is more coming down the pipeline.
Hello fellow pandas. I know this thread is a couple of years old, but have you used or heard of Class for Teams?
Class for Microsoft Teams | Class
We use MS Teams LTI 1.1 and 1.3 but the Class for MS Teams will be a good tool to use in the place of our current integrations. I'd like feedback if you have used Class for MS Teams or attended a demo.
Thank you for your time!
We are using the "Class" product but with Zoom. We integrated it this past term and are rolling it out this Fall. So far the response has been positive. Well worth scheduling a demo.
