IEP Modified assignments in gradebook

Does anyone have suggestions on handling grading and tracking of modified work for students on IEPS in Canvas?

@jodilepla What do you mean by tracking modified work for students?  If students are completing the same assignments in Canvas, but they have been modified in the requirements or expectations in some way, you could note this in the comments for the submission.  Alternatively, you could make a "modified" version of the assignment in Canvas that is only assigned to the students that receive the modified work.  this would create a separate column in the grade book to separate the students that received the unmodified assignment from those that received the modified version.

What the author of the post means is that teacher who differentiate have different questions, activities, reading passages or prompts to accommodate for students with IEPs, 504s, or ILPs. By tracking, the author means that they need to account for assignment scores in the grade book. The core question is, can a teacher have a replacement assignment so that a student with a modified assignment doesn't have to have two assignments listed in the grade book, one that needs to be excused because the student has been assigned a modified assignment, and another that is included in the grade book.

I would suggest that the Canvas team develop an option for selecting "all except" a select group of students to assign standard assignments, so that it's easier and less confusing for students who are assigned modified assignments.
