Grades from Two Classes (Co-Requisite) in a Single Canvas Course

I am teaching a co-requisite course (two courses taken by all students simultaneously) and would like to use a single Canvas course to more seamlessly organize the assignments. Students have reported that it is confusing to have to work from two separate courses on Canvas when the experience in-class is much more integrated. The problem comes down to grading. How can I pull the grades for the two courses separately at the end of the semester?

For example, I might have gradebook categories A-G but I need categories A, B, C, D to count towards the overall grade for class one and the categories E, F, G to count towards the overall grade for class two.

How can I calculate grades for two classes within a single Canvas "course"?

Thanks!

Hello @PriceAllison,

I think your best bet in this situation might be to hide the totals from the students, export the Gradebook to Excel, and do the calculations there. Unfortunately, Canvas cannot handle two final grades and there is no way to segregate the assignment groups in grading calculations.

Best of luck,

James
