Grade Notifications

A parent reached out because they are not receiving grade notifications for their 4th grader. The teacher post grades. Has anyone run into this issue?

Hey @Elisa_V!

Each user adjusts their own settings for notifications.  If no one else is stating that they are having issues and it is just one parent, my guess would be that their notifications have been turned off.  The Community guide How do I manage my Canvas notification settings? can be shared with the parent to see if this is the issue.

Let us know if this works. If this does not solve the issue, reply and we can try to find another option.   🤞

Hello, thank you for responding. I viewed notifications for other observers and they are not receiving Grade Notifications either. However, Observers are notified when assignments are created.

I noticed the classroom teacher does not add due dates. I tested adding a due date to an assignment, updated the grade, and the parent received a grade notification for the assignment.  I'm thinking the issue lies with the teacher not adding due dates. Any thoughts?
