From speedgrader, is there a way to see the result of a peer review rubric before I fill out my rubric as a teacher?

When an assignment is peer-reviewed using a rubric, the student-submitted rubric is not displayed on the Speedgrader until the teacher completes their own rubric. Is there a way to see the student's rubric in Speedgrader before the teacher submits theirs, or is that not possible? IF it is not possible, this improvement would be very useful to not have to leave the Speedgrader to see the student's rubric.

Thank you for that clarification, @lsorroche, and I apologize for not fully understanding the scenario.

You are correct that with an assignment configured for peer review that has a rubric and that rubric has been completed by a reviewer, that the instructor does not see the student-submitted rubric when in the SpeedGrader until after the instructor has also completed the rubric for that same student.

My guess is that Canvas might have been intentionally designed this way so that the instructor is not swayed by the rubric that was submitted by the peer reviewer.

What I can say (recognizing that this is not ideal) is that it is possible for an instructor to see the rubric that was submitted by the peer by:

  1. going to the assignment
  2. under "Related Items" on the right-side, clicking on "Peer Reviews"
  3. find the same of the student that will be doing the peer review
  4. clicking on the same of the student that that student will be reviewing
  5. after the "Submission Details" loads, clicking on "Show Rubric" on the right-side

In another web browser window/tab, if the instructor has the student's submission open in SpeedGrader, the instructor can switch back-and-forth between the two windows/tabs.

Unless anyone else has any other feedback, if you would like to propose a change, you would need to submit this as an idea in the Canvas Community.
