Duplicating a Module with classical quizzes or LTI assignments

Canvas doesn't allow duplication of a module if it contains classical quizzes or LTI assignments, but our use case is to assign one module to section A  and a duplicated module with different quiz settings to section B. Does anyone know how to do that?

Okay, this is an awful work around, but if the modules contain a lot of non - quiz items is it possible to duplicate before adding the quizzes - maybe even creating the quizzes in a separate module

Another possibility - which I have tested - might be to create links to the quizzes - as module links - while the quizzes are in a separate module

Thanks for your suggestions. I am not sure if I understood your 2nd option completely. If we place quizzes in a separate module, will there be 1 or 2 copies of a given quiz? We need 2 copies of each quiz. They just have different settings and assigned to different groups of students.

I haven't tested option 2-but I was thinking of putting all the quizzes in a separate module - or maybe even 2 separate modules one for each type of quiz and then using generic assignments in which I would place in-course links to the relevant quizzes in the regular course modules which also house any other material. Admittedly this is clunky

Hi @nschutz,

I think @BrianLester's first suggestion is probably the best way to handle this, even though it's probably not optimal for your scenario.  Anything else would, in my opinion, be getting into really hack-ish/unsupported land and could end up causing you more issues down the road.
