The auto-save feature isn't 100% fail proof unfortunately. Lapses in connectivity, browser issues, network timeouts, etc. can all cause issues with the auto-save feature. If you've come back to your discussion post and don't see the option to load saved content, it's unfortunately gone. I recommend anything longer than a paragraph to be written out on an application that can be easily recovered and isn't solely relying on your device, connection, and browser working without issues.
