Course template - universal link to course navitaion menu item "modules"

Howdy! 

new on Canvas here, I am trying to setup a module template that features a homepage. Said homepage should have a  prompt that instruct the user to reach the "modules" section of the course. I would like the word "module" to have an hyperlink attached that refer to the modules menu item of the course navigation.

Problem: the modules menu item URL is "course specific" e.g. "https://lunex.instructure.com/courses/234/modules". Is there a way to create a hyperlink that "universally" refers to the module item in the navigation menu? 

example of prompt for users:  "Access course content by clicking on Modules [hyperlink] on the left-hand menu and clicking on the appropriate Unit.

As you have discovered, the link to the "Modules" index page is course specific.  There isn't a "generic" module URL that can be used universally from one course to another...because each course has a unique set of modules.  Is there a reason that you need to have a link to "Modules" on your course page in addition to just displaying the "Modules" course navigation menu on the left side of your screen?  To me, this seems slightly unnecessary...IMHO.  I know that some instructors like to design course home pages pointing to specific modules in their course, however.

As another option...what if you set your course "Modules" page as your "Home" page?  You could still display any course announcements above your modules (if you wanted).  For example, you might have something like this:

• How do I change the Course Home Page? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
• How do I show recent announcements in the Course H... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)

Not sure if any of this will be helpful or not, but hopefully it might give you some ideas.  Let us know if you have any other questions about this...thanks!

Thanks Chirs for the reply, I missed it until I came to check on the community again after several days. 

I agree with you that it might feel redundant since the left-hand menu has that item. The whole idea came up in a discussion with colleagues where some pointed out that a direct link would have been useful particularly when the homepage is visualized via the app (where the left-hand menu is not present). 

Anyway, as there is no other way we will stick with the simple message with no links.
