Can quizzes that don't need grading still appear in instructor's To-Do list?

Currently, our district's SIS (Synergy) does not "talk with" our LMS (Canvas), so we have to manually transfer grades from Canvas to Synergy. This is especially a pain for quizzes that are automatically graded in Canvas (MC, formula or numeric answers, etc.) because we don't know when new submissions happen if a student were absent or late. Our district is working on getting these two systems to talk with each other, but in the meantime, is there a way for a submitting a quiz submission that doesn't require #grading to still appear in an instructor'sto-do list?
