Answer key for assignments that students do not see?

I know that you can create rubrics, but I’ve realized students can see the rubric before completing the assignment. I’d like to have grading notes for something more holistic, like when I am asking students to complete questions and I need the answer key to grade them. Frustrating to have to have multiple windows open to grade, especially on an iPad,

As far as I know you cannot do this for assignments in general or with rubrics.

Yes, @Ron_Bowman  is right. But, what a frustrating answer!!!

There have been multiple requests made by multiple Canvas instructors for years to allow instructors to create "answer keys." So far, these idea conversations have gone nowhere.

Nevertheless, I would like to suggest that you add your thoughts to this Idea Conversation:

You could also submit a new Idea Conversation as well.

Maybe, just maybe, the Canvas development team will take on this project some day. Not giving up!
