Just started getting this today.
Aug 29, 2022 Amazon SES did not send the message to this address because it is on the suppression list for your account. For more information about removing addresses from the suppression list, see the Amazon SES Developer Guide
Now up to 5 accounts it's happening to. Anyone know what this is?? I'm familiar with blacklists BUT since the emails are coming from canvas and I assume that is hosted on an AWS server how do I remedy?
Thanks
Can we please wake up this question? It was posted in August but has not had any replies. It's now February and I have the same question.
Thanks, Margi
See this article in the Admin Guide: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Admin-Guide/How-do-I-view-bounced-email-notifications-for-users-i.... At the very end of the article it states: To verify whether a particular email address is on this list and to request removal, reach out to Canvas Support. Additionally, the AWS suppression list is automatically cleared every two weeks by Amazon.
We learned about the AWS Suppression list from our CSM this past fall. We had numerous Observer (non-institutional) email accounts that stop receiving notifications and cannot be found on the bounce list under admin tools. As an admin there's no way to see if someone is on the AWS list other than asking support to look into it. I have to explicitly ask Support to check the AWS Suppression list, if I don't they tell me the email is not on the suppression list and that messages are going out (which is what we see in Admin Tools). It's frustrating at this point that most Support agents don't seem to know about or check the AWS list when email addresses are sent to them, and unless the CSM has informed the institution admin about the issue, the admin wouldn't even know to ask when submitting the ticket. I'm very curious about how the OP got the Amazon SES messages, and also what the guide shared above means by "the AWS suppression list is automatically cleared every two weeks by Amazon." We hear from Observers who have not received notifications for well over 2 weeks, so I don't see evidence that accounts are cleared from the list.
