Canvas iOS app version updates are distributed in a phased rollout, which distributes the update to all users enrolled in automatic updates over time. The features in these notes may not immediately be available, but iOS users can manually update the app at any time in the App Store. The Canvas Teacher iOS App requires iOS 16.0 or later.

Teacher App Updates

• On the Assignments page, instructors can sort assignments by due date.
• Custom calendar frequency page retains the currently selected frequency.
• Inbox messages display attached audio and video comments.
• Authentication for accessing course files is improved.
• Resolved an issue where the inbox tab did not show the number of unread messages.
• Addressed display issues after pasting long text in inbox messages.
• Enabled adding recipients when replying to messages on the web version.
• Improved messaging functionality to allow sending messages to more than 100 recipients.
• Prevented new messages from incorrectly reusing existing conversations.
• Corrected the annotation bar display in landscape mode.
• Ensured LTI content embedded in rich content submissions is visible in SpeedGrader.
